Hemex Patel is a senior laboratory and operations leader with over 25 years of experience in environmental testing, laboratory management, and operational excellence across New Jersey and New York. He has extensive experience leading laboratory teams, improving operational
efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving strategic growth within environmental and analytical laboratories.
Most recently, Hemex served as Operations Manager, where he managed laboratory
operations, workflow coordination, instrumentation oversight, EHS compliance, budgeting, procurement, and strategic planning. He led cross-functional teams focused on performance management, staff development, safety, and continuous improvement.
Previously, he served as Laboratory Director at, overseeing daily operations, staffing, training, and implementation of new methodologies aligned with EPA guidelines and client requirements. He also managed inventory, resources, and P&L responsibilities while maintaining strict compliance standards.
During his tenure Carrier, Hemex supervised Genchem, Metals, GC, and GCMS Semi-Volatile laboratories. He played a key role in method development, LIMS improvements, QA compliance, instrument purchasing, and improving client turnaround times.
Earlier at he advanced from Senior Chemist to Department Manager, leading teams of over 20 employees, improving extraction processes, implementing NJEPH and EPA methods, and ensuring successful DEP and EPA audit compliance.
Hemex began his career, progressing from Chemist to Laboratory Manager, where he developed strong expertise in inorganics analysis, workflow management. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from D.D.I.T College of Engineering, Gujarat, India, and pursued graduate studies in Chemical Engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology.
His strengths include laboratory operations, strategic decision-making, EPA/DEP compliance, quality assurance, process improvement, budgeting, team leadership, and environmental health and safety management. Outside of work, he enjoys following cricket Sport.
