Scott E. Arbet II

Director of Scientific Operations

Scott E. Arbet II leads Tundra Testing’s scientific programs with a rare blend of molecular-biology/biochemistry depth and entrepreneurial drive. Before joining Tundra Testing, Scott founded and served as Lead Scientist of SGE Enterprises, a biotech venture that created a first-of-its-kind, time-controlled yeast-flocculation platform.

Under his guidance the technology was adapted not only for precision fermentation but also for brewing and future applications of biofuel production, environmental bio-cleanup, and yeast-based food systems, experience that now informs Tundra Testing’s innovative approach to environmental testing.

Scott’s research portfolio encompasses recombinant-protein expression, mass-spectrometry workflows, molecular-cloning, protein-analysis, next-generation-sequencing, lipid-nanoparticle visualization, ancient-DNA sequencing, and much more, giving him a toolkit ideally suited to Alaska’s complex soil, water, and air matrices. His technical fluency spans HPLC, ICP-MS, GC-MS, small-scale bioreactors, AI-driven bioinformatics, and high-throughput liquid-handling robotics, capabilities he is deploying to help Tundra Testing achieve A2LA ISO/IEC 17025, NELAC, CS-LAP, and NLLAP accreditations from day one.

At Tundra Testing, Scott pairs rigorous scientific method with an open door philosophy for collaboration. Whether advising municipal agencies on contaminant action levels, guiding industrial clients through complex regulatory requirements, or partnering with academic teams on cutting-edge research, he is committed to delivering data that stand up to peer review and regulatory scrutiny alike. His leadership ensures that every sample, be it Arctic groundwater, mine-tailings runoff, or urban particulates, is analyzed with precision, transparency, and an eye toward actionable solutions.

When he isn’t in the lab calibrating instruments or validating new methods, Scott can be found playing pickleball or exploring Alaska’s backcountry, where his passion for environmental stewardship began. That same passion now drives Tundra Testing’s mission: providing the robust, defensible data our communities need to safeguard the North’s unique ecosystems and build a sustainable future.
